An electronic information system that most manufacturers use to publish dismantling information and therefore comply with legislative requirements to publish such information. A database that parts suppliers and car manufacturers populate with component and material data so that the total amount of constituent materials can be calculated for individual models. This is important where only a certain amount of a material can be used in construction.

Can be used for vehicles not covered by the Certificate of Destruction (COD) system (motorcycles, Heavy Goods Vehicles etc) or cars that cannot be identified for COD purposes.

A term that refers to any vehicle that is damaged but that could be repaired and placed back on the road and so has more value than a vehicle that will just be scrapped.
