panpipesAn array of fixed-pitch cane flutes in graduated lengths, bound together in a group. Called Sikkus, Antaras or Zamponas in South America, the notes of a scale are often split between two sets of pipes. In performance, the melody alternates between players, a technique called "Hocketing."
