A tiny microscopic organism that is the primary cause of allergies related to house dust. The term "dust mite allergy" is a misnomer because it is the fecal excretion of these mites to which people are allergic. Dust mites can therefore trigger allergic reactions even when dead.

Family of House Dust Mites, in the superFamily Analgoidea, order Astigmata. They include the genera Dermatophagoides and Euroglyphus.

A small mite invisible to the naked eye.  Widely distributed in homes. It is a major cause of asthma & allergic rhinitis.

A nearly microscopic mite common in human homes that feeds on shed skin and other materials and can trigger asthma and skin rashes

Dust mite feed on dander from humans and animals. It is not the mites themselves that cause allergies, but their feces that can be introduced into the air.

A microscopic arachnid, commonly Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus or Dermatophagoides farina.
